Community & Events

tHrIVe brings people living with HIV together in Nottingham and beyond. Our community is built on shared experience, mutual support and the simple reassurance of spending time with people who understand. Whether you join a monthly meeting, a social activity or a wellbeing retreat, you can take part at your own pace.

A place to connect

Living with HIV can sometimes feel isolating, even when life is otherwise busy and full. tHrIVe creates friendly, confidential spaces where people can talk openly, share experiences, learn from one another or simply relax without having to explain themselves.

  • Monthly group meetings on the second Wednesday in Nottingham City Centre
  • A safe, welcoming and confidential environment
  • Space to share, listen, learn and relax
  • Occasional workshops, social activities and wellbeing sessions
  • No pressure to speak or share more than feels comfortable

Monthly meetings in Nottingham

Our regular group meeting takes place on the second Wednesday of each month in Nottingham City Centre. It is an opportunity to meet other people living with HIV, talk about what matters to you and spend time in a relaxed, supportive setting. New members are always welcome, and you do not need to arrive knowing anyone.

Retreats and wellbeing

In May 2026, members of the tHrIVe community came together for a fully funded two-day retreat at Nanpantan Hall. It offered time away from everyday pressures, with peaceful surroundings and space to rest, reconnect and focus on wellbeing.

Food and transport from Nottingham were included, and everyone had a private en-suite room. The retreat was organised with The Spencer Trust and supported by Sexual Health Services Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Experiences like this are an important part of our community. They create time for conversations, shared experiences and friendships that can be difficult to find elsewhere.

Community comes first

Events are some of the ways our community comes together; they are not the community itself. The friendships, understanding and shared support between members are what make tHrIVe work. Our events page provides the practical details of forthcoming meetings and activities.
